Welcome to the world of Camarthenshire based photographer John Burton.

What I Do

I'm John Burton and I am a retired photographer living in Carmarthenshire, Wales. In 2008 I was the winner of the Renaissance Photography Prize. I have won numerous other prizes, including being runner up in Digital Camera Magazine's Photographer of the Year Competition. I have had work published widely in magazines like Digital Camera Magazine, The Dorset Magazine, Muse Magazine, Scarlet Magazine, Real Travel Magazine, The Independent Magazine and The Daily Express. My work has also been recognised as an 'Image of the Day' in the Times newspaper. I have also been exhibited at Proud Galleries in London.

Who I Am

After a career in Local government I started my own company running tours in the Himalayas which in turn lead to an interest in photography. Having retired and moved to Wales a few years ago I have started concentrating more on the natural landscape around me in this most beautiful of countries. Recently I have photographed subjects in Bhutan, Nepal, Mongolia, India, Rwanda and Ethiopia (to name a few).

I am retired and not trading (I stress this because it appears that someone is using my doamin name in some sort of Credit Card scam! - For the record I have no way of processing credit cards) but I am available for special projects (including social and charitable projects) that are of particular interest to me and I also do a small amount of TFP 'Time for Prints' work with aspiring models who show promise.

My Work

Here are just a few examples of my work. I have a full Elinchrom studio set up and cover most aspects of Photography. Do not hesitate to ask if you would like to see other examples
